Saree Not Saree: India 2013

It's funny how time and distance change you, the roads you take don't always lead you home.

Hey It’s Okay: India Style

As a shout of to my main mag Glamour, I decided to do my own Hey Its Okay section. Seriously, I have a stack of out to date Glamours I brought from home that I occasionally flip through….addicted! I cannot wait to strap myself to an elliptical when I get home and catch up on all the love, health, and beauty tips while in India. To be honest, love, health, and beauty went out the window the moment I stepped off the plane. Can you say deep fried, dusty, celibate subcontinent?

To be blogging instead of making a study guide for your Ayurveda final.

To let the Vespas pass and wait for the Harley’s when hitchhiking.

To have more friends that are dog than humans.

To get worked up over Rs. 10 (18 cents…) and feel like you were ripped off.

To be WAY too excited that Netflix and Hulu work in India now.

To use scarfs as wall decorations and yoga mats as rugs.

To wear shorts around campus. Your knees need a little air every now and then.

To wake up at 8:45 AM for the toast at breakfast then go back to sleep until lunch.

To get a weekly pedicure since your feet are being overworked. Throw in a manicure too…

To spend more on the ride to the coffee house than on your latte. Instant coffee just is not cutting it anymore!

To want, more than anything, to own a jean dress. Or a fedora. And know that both will never happen.

To go to the movie theater by yourself because there is good popcorn and airconditioning.

To electrocute yourself daily when plugging in your laptop. Some people never learn.

To know the schedule of weekly ladies nights by heart.

To not be phased by loss of power, water, etc. I am writing this in the dark.

Thats all for the first instalment of Hey It’s Okay! Now back to watching House of Cards….
